ISLAMABAD, January 12: Sufi Sangat of twin cities, a group of devotees who wish to promote the great Sufi thoughts of the Sufi poets of the Punjab, in collaboration with National Press Club and Payaam Trust organized the 100th session of “Great Sufi Wisdom” in National Press Club Islamabad. The session was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life. The Reading & Understanding sessions of Mian Mohammad Bakhsh's Saiful-Mulook [A wonderful tale of Prince Saiful Malook & Badiul Jamal, infact a tale of a journey of Divine Love] is an effort to spread the message of peace and tolerance in these troubled times.

Addressing a large audience, Professor Saeed Ahmed, the author of Great Sufi Wisdom series (including nine books on the seven major Sufi poets of the Punjabi language) explained Self-denial, patience and simplicity as the most favorite aspects of Sufism.“It is quite understandable that it is not easy to live simple life in the modern world, the world which is badly polluted by creating more and more desires. Pakistan is one of those very few countries of the world which has quite a rich spiritual cultural heritage. There is an urgent need to instill the great thoughts, messages and stories of these Sages, Noble Saints and Sufis in the curricula of the educational system so we could leave a better world for our coming generations.”, he added.  He also said the book “Saiful Malook” is a marvelous and unmatchable piece of the divine poetry whose one-fourth part is consisted over the story of the Egyptian Prince Saiful Malook and Badiul Jamal, a fairy of Bagh-e-Irm but the three-fourth part of the book is full of local, global and spiritual wisdom full of moral values and ethics. Teaching of such book could bring a very positive and huge change in the present social structure of this region if the governments of the Punjab and Kashmir could realize the importance of the book of this great Saint.

Among the other notable speakers were Sarwat Mohiyudin, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Bhutta, Prof. Ashiq Hussain, Irfan Ahmad Kiani, Col. Mohammad Ilyas, Dr. Hamid, and Professor Dr. Tanveer Anjum. Mian Mohammad Sajid from darbar Khari Sharif presided the session and applauded the greatest job by the Sufi Sangat.. Gul Mohammad sung some verses of Saif ul Mulook while Basit Subhani hosted the event.
“Saif-ul-Mulook” [Chonwaa'n Kalaam consisted over the selected verses from the book] was also distributed to all the participants and langar was also served as it is the Sufi tradition to share and care each other.
