Fauja Singh, the greatest Punjabi Sikh sports personality alive, was carrier of the Olympic Torch through the streets of east London on 21 July 2012. Fauja Singh, who is 101-years-old, undertook the relay for the second time - he carried the torch in Athens eight years ago. He defied age to participate in several marathons; he was star carrier of the London 2012.
During this event, Sikhs served 40,000 vegetarian meals in celebration of this momentous occasion to nearby passers by and made an effort to spread the message of Guru Baba Nanak.
Fauja Singh is the oldest ever Olympic Torch bearer in the Olympics.
