{"id":81332,"date":"2026-04-27T21:10:53","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T01:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnaorg.com\/wp\/articles\/biggest-wall-mural-depicts-partition-saga-at-wagah\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T21:09:53","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T01:09:53","slug":"biggest-wall-mural-depicts-partition-saga-at-wagah","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/apnaorg.com\/wp\/articles\/biggest-wall-mural-depicts-partition-saga-at-wagah\/","title":{"rendered":"Biggest wall mural depicts partition saga at Wagah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><strong>The Tribune Chandigarh<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;July 12, 2014<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">People who visit the Wagah border to witness the Retreat ceremony  can now look forward to an added attraction as Sarhad restaurant, located near  the border, has come up with what it claims to be the India&#8217;s biggest wall  mural (200 ft x 10 ft) depicting the tale of Partition.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Amritsar Deputy Commissioner today dedicated to the public this  work of art in cement stone relief created by a 15-member team of artists led  by Suresh Nair of Banaras Hindu University, and Kirti Chandak of Paris.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">It is the biggest cement relief mural in the country and is  divided into five parts. The first panel depicts the pre-Partition bond between  the people. The panel two shows the trauma of Partition and people migrating.  The panel three and four depict the daily ceremony at the Wagah border.
