Pakistani Poets Mark Qatar I-Day

Qatar based Pakistani poets and writers celebrated Qatar's Independence Day by holding a literary session on Sunday.

Held at the residence of Pakistan Cultural Forum (PCF) President Rashid Niaz, the session was presided over by Doha's PAk Youth Society (PYS) president Qazi Mohammad Asghar while UAE-based Pakistani novelist Raja Mohammed Ahmed, who was on a business tour of Qatar, w.is the chief guest.

Idara-e-Khayal-o-Fun president Muhamamd Mumtaz Raashed, who compered the session, introduucd Ahmed.

Pakistan Muslim Welfare League (PMWL) president Tahir Mehmood Chaudhari and PCF chief coordinator Tahir Ahmed spoke.

Mumtaz Raashed, Rashid Niaz and Shaukat Ali Naz presented their poems on Qatar.
Ahmed, who won Pakistan Writers Guild Award in 1972 for his novel' Khel Muqqadran Dee' (Game of Fortune), read out one of his short stories.

Pak Shama School teachers Shafiq Akhtar and Mehboob Qazi, Ijaz Hyder and Zawar Hussain Zawar presented their ghazals. Raashed presented a set of his books to Ahmed. - RC
